Don't stop 'til you get enough

Random thoughts on my happy friday:

-It doesn't take much for me to have a good day like today...drink all my water, eat healthy foods and get a good workout in, I'm happy

-Very happy my CT scan was stable, with one nodule even shrinking. So happy I didn't have to get a needle stuck in my side this week and even more happy I can use my PTO hours for vacay.

-Wondering when postings on FB of friends having babies will not make me cry and feel sorry for myself. It only lasts for a few minutes but it's still no good.

-What made the nodule shrink? Possibly my addition of dandelion leaves to my diet, or my little obsession with Bikram.....Maybe I should stop wondering why and just say thank you.

-Hummus, I love you, why did it take 27 years for us to meet.

-Is the sun making the scar on my chest darker because EVERYONE noticed and decided to loudly ask about it this week at work.

-I feel like I have a new dog because I shaved him. Once a long hair chi, now a short hair chi.

Getting ready to go to a birthday party. I hope they have a lot of Michael playing tonight since it's the 1 year anniversary. Love Love Love you MJ!!!!

What a differnce a year makes...

Exactly one year I was working full time, had a boyfriend, was enjoying life as a 25 year old. Exactly one year ago today I thought I was healthy. I went to my regular 3 month check up thinking that it would be the same as all the others the year and a half before, clear. Instead of hearing this I heard things like relapse, mass against my heart, the size of a small baseball, and not able to do surgery. It was horrifying. Even though I was first diagnosed 5 years before this it was really the first time that the solution wasn't black and white. I had never been told surgery wasn't an option. The thought of death had entered my mind before but this was the first time that I let it stay for a while.

Fast forward a year. I have had 9 rounds of IV chemo, one round of oral chemo, lines put in and removed, and an 8 hour surgery. I discovered I had a heart defect and had it fixed. I have not worked full time in a year and am now starting to apply for jobs hoping to go back to work by the beginning of the year. I am feeling stronger and healthier each day. I have had my heart broken, ended relationships and started new ones. I have matured and become more emotionally stable. I am in a better place and I'm happy.

This year was an absolute nightmare at times, many times to be honest, but I have also had some of the best times of my life this year.

It seems just like yesterday I was sitting in the office hearing the news. I really can't believe time has gone by this fast. I am so thankful I am on the other side. I am so happy I made it through.

I am so thankful to everyone for all their love and support. This was a team effort, I could not have done it without you.

My post from a year ago.

more catching up

This little project is really starting to annoy me, I really don't want to do it half the time BUT I love the idea that I will have a snapshot of a whole year and I love the way my album is turning out...this keeps me going.
May 30- I love the Internet. I was not able to go to Mexico for a wedding, but I was able to watch it live via the Internet.

May 29- At the gas station looking across the parking lot at Old Navy and Michael's contemplating whether I should go in or not. Counts are low so no was the answer.

May 28- My dad's new truck , I can't wait to drive it

May 27- Fried green tomato heaven

May 26- My mom put signs on the doors to remind to put the dogs in their cages before I leave...it's not that I always forget I just don't because they don't listen to me and I'm not going to fight with 3 little dogs

May 25- It's rare I park in the garage. There are just too many things to run into with my car.

May 17-Kev really wanted to go to Galveston, I did not at first, but I'm glad I gave in. We walked on the beach and then ate at a yummy seafood restaurant.

May 15- my supplements neatly organized in a new pill box.

May 11- Just a few of my little blankets. I'm always cold so I keep them stashed everywhere, even my car.
